About this compound

Tesamorelin is a synthetic 44-amino acid peptide analogue of endogenous human growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH), modified with a trans-3-hexenoic acid moiety at the N-terminus to improve proteolytic stability. It acts as a selective agonist at the GHRH receptor (GHRHR), stimulating pulsatile growth hormone secretion from pituitary somatotrophs in research models.

Unlike native GHRH(1-44), the structural modification extends the peptide's half-life in vitro, making it a useful tool for studying GH-axis physiology, visceral adipose tissue dynamics, and metabolic regulation. Research interest has focused on tesamorelin's role in models of lipodystrophy, hepatic fat accumulation, and body composition.

Supplied as a sterile lyophilized powder. Reconstitute with bacteriostatic water for in vitro laboratory use only. Not for human or veterinary administration.
