About this compound

NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, oxidized form) is a foundational pyridine nucleotide coenzyme found in all living cells. It serves as the obligate hydride acceptor in numerous metabolic redox reactions including glycolysis, the TCA cycle, fatty-acid oxidation, and oxidative phosphorylation.

NAD+ is also a substrate, not just a cofactor, for several enzyme families that consume NAD+ stoichiometrically, most notably the sirtuin deacetylases, PARP DNA-repair enzymes, and CD38. Cellular NAD+ pools and the kinetics of NAD+ biosynthesis and consumption have become a major focus of longevity, mitochondrial-bioenergetics, and DNA-damage research.

Reconstitution & storage

Add 10 mL of bacteriostatic water to the 1000 mg vial. Final concentration: 100 mg/mL. NAD+ in solution is light- and pH-sensitive; store refrigerated, protected from light, and use within 14 days. For longer storage, aliquot and freeze at -20°C.
