Bacteriostatic Water

Sterile diluent for laboratory peptide reconstitution

$14.99 10 mL multi-dose vial
≥98% HPLC Purity Third-Party Tested COA per Batch Cold-Chain Ship

About this compound

Bacteriostatic water is sterile water for injection containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol as an antimicrobial preservative. The benzyl alcohol concentration is sufficient to inhibit microbial growth across multiple withdrawals from the same vial, making it the standard diluent for reconstituting lyophilized research peptides where multi-dose vial use is required.

In a typical research workflow, bacteriostatic water is added directly to a lyophilized peptide vial through the rubber septum using a sterile syringe. The peptide dissolves on gentle swirling. Stored refrigerated, the resulting peptide solution maintains integrity for the published shelf-life of the specific compound.

Sterile filtered, multi-dose vial format. Supplied for in vitro laboratory use only. Not for human or veterinary administration.

Allergen notice: Contains 0.9% benzyl alcohol, a known allergen for some individuals. Researchers should follow standard laboratory safety procedures including appropriate PPE, ventilation, and SDS review before handling.

Reconstitution & storage

No reconstitution needed, bacteriostatic water IS the diluent. To use: withdraw the desired volume through the rubber septum with a sterile syringe and inject slowly into the lyophilized peptide vial wall. Once a 10 mL vial has been entered, it is considered opened, refrigerate and discard 28 days after first puncture.
